Baby Skin Care
Babies have very sensitive skin and their skin is much more permeable than adult skin. Because of this parents must be very careful about which products they use on their children. Unfortunately seventy-five percent of infants suffer from rashes during their first few months, choosing the right baby skin care products can greatly reduce these chances.
Typical grocery store baby skin care products have many irritating and possibly cancer causing ingredients. These ingredients include formaldehyde, 1, 4-dioxane, and nitrosamines. Many baby skin care products also include fragrances or perfumes which are very commonly allergens.
Some other surprising allergy causing culprits are talc and petroleum. Petroleum holds moisture too close to the skin which makes a rash more likely. Baby skin care products should be free from artificial colors and synthetic fragrances. Look for formulas that are pH balanced and contain natural, soothing ingredients like soy calendula oil and vitamin E.
